A Message from John Herrera
I remember my Father's love for his guitar. It wasn't much to look at and had a few nicks on it, but he was proud of it! He would sit me on his lap when I was about one year old, and I could feel the neck of the guitar on my back as he played. It was the melody that made me sleepy and the softness of how he played.
I can't tell you the number of times that my father saved my life, and not only in the literal sense. Through his honest love and respect for others and his approach to life he was able to pass down to me his ability to understand the world. With his love of music he opened my heart and created an enduring legacy. It is with this same love that I dedicate this symphony to him.
